Job Description:
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the construction project by managing the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials and equipment. ‘
- Will be responsible for maintaining an organized and well-managed construction site inventory, which is crucial for project timelines and cost control
Material Inventory Management:
- Receive, inspect, and record all incoming construction materials and equipment.
- Ensure accurate documentation of quantities, specifications, and quality of materials received.
- Organize and maintain a systematic storage system to optimize space and accessibility.
- Conduct periodic stock checks and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Collaborate with procurement to coordinate timely material deliveries based on project needs
Material Distribution and Tracking:
- Coordinate the efficient distribution of materials and equipment to various project locations and work areas.
- Monitor material usage and track inventory levels to prevent shortages or excesses.
- Ensure materials are issued to the appropriate teams or subcontractors as per project requirements.
- Maintain a log of materials issued and received, including any returns or discrepancies.
Quality Control and Safety:
- Collaborate with the Quality Control team to ensure all materials meet project specifications and quality standards.
- Inspect and report any damaged or defective materials, taking appropriate action.
- Adhere to safety protocols and ensure the safe storage of hazardous materials.
- Promote and maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free storage area.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Prepare regular reports on material usage, stock levels, and procurement needs for the Project Manager.
- Document all transactions related to materials, including receipts, issuances, and returns.
- Assist in maintaining materials records for project budget tracking and cost control purposes.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Maintain open and effective communication with the Project Manager, Procurement Team, and Site Supervisors.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure the timely availability of materials to support construction activities.
- Address any material-related concerns or inquiries from project stakeholders promptly
Desired Candidate Profile:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Additional education or certification in logistics or materials management is a plus.
- Proven experience in storekeeping or material expediting in a construction or related industry.
- Familiarity with construction materials, equipment, and safety regulations.
- Proficiency in using inventory management software and basic computer skills.
- Proficiency in English language, both written and verbal
