Job Title:

Business Development Manager

14 Month FTC – (High possibility of being made permanent)

The Business Development Manager role is an integral part of the Middle East Clients & Industries function.

This role will be supporting the Clients & Industries team in developing select Key and/or Priority Clients as part of the broader Clients & Industry program.

This person will be required to work with the Associate Director to help and support lead Partners and the Director, Global Clients & Industries, to develop and execute business development and marketing activities that leverage the Firm’s capabilities and market profile to enhance the overall client experience for the Firm’s clients.

Main Duties: 

  • Work closely with the Associate Director based in Dubai and wider Client & Industries team, globally, across the Firm’s practice and industry groups.
  • Support the development of business and client development initiatives. Assisting, and leading where possible, on RFP responses.
  • Assist in the production and maintenance of relevant credentials and related materials about the capabilities and experience across relevant practice groups, including lawyers’ biographies, deal lists, brochures, and capability statements in support of client targeting efforts.
  • To act as client relationship support for some of the assigned ME-based clients as a part of the global client program.
  • Support the SRM in implementation of the business plans for each of these key clients
  • Key clients meeting preparation
  • Preparing and collating financial reports for key clients across the region
  • Work with the SRM in assisting the ME Strategy Taskforce to set up the Middle East client program of top clients
  • Reporting which includes creating dashboards and interpreting data
  • Managing the internal CRM processes in place
  • Assist in the organization of internal and external events from a client relationship management perspective.

Qualifications:

  • Sold track record of Business Development and Marketing experience, preferably within a large international law Firm
  • Self-confident and assertive, able to respectfully challenge and motivate Partners, Associates and BD staff at all levels in order to gain buy-in
  • Able to write engaging, persuasive and articulate industry-focused proposals and specialized materials that clearly explain the proposition and engage with the client mindset
  • Middle East experience is beneficial
  • Arabic speaker is a plus but not mandatory
  • Fluent spoken and written English
  • Relevant marketing (CIM) or a post-graduate qualification would be a distinct advantage.
