Synopsis:
The Trade Compliance Manager (the Manager) shall have primary responsibility for managing the Etihad Group Trade Compliance programmes in alignment with the Head of Ethics & Compliance. The incumbent shall act as the key contact for all related matters. The Manager shall display the utmost integrity and shall maintain objectivity and impartiality when performing the functions of this role.
Accountabilities:
- Provide advice and guidance to management and staff on all issues related to Trade Compliance. Develop and maintain relevant policies and procedures for Trade Compliance programmes and related due diligence activities with the objective of ensuring compliance with all Trade Compliance laws and regulations that are relevant to Etihad’s operations.
- Oversee departmental efforts to develop their own related policies and procedures in line with Group policies.
- Develop, plan and implement Trade Compliance training and Communication strategy for Etihad Aviation Group, including for regular staff and management.
- Appoint, train and manage Etihad’s network of Trade Compliance champions. Set objectives and provide input to help line management evaluate their performance in this role.
- Monitor developments in global Trade Compliance laws and regulations, identify risks and work with business unit leaders and the risk management function to devise suitable mitigation strategies and effective controls.
Education & Experience:
- At least 8 years of compliance experience four of which should be in a similar trade compliance role.
- University degree (law degree an advantage).
Excellent communication skills, business friendly, good attention to details, strong influencing, and implementation skills, self-motivated, and able to manage own workload effectively
