The Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of fulltime Senior Instructor, Biostatistician in the Department of Biological and Biomedical Sciences.
Faculty Title:
Senior Instructor (Biostatiscian) – Department of Biological and Biomedical Sciences
Responsibilities:
Specifically, you will responsible to:
- provide academic and research support for faculty and staff for development of new courses, designing research study protocols and development of assessments and tutorials for the MPhil in Biological and Biomedical Sciences program
- statistical data analysis support for manuscript and grant writing
- actively contribute to the departmental Research Aims Methodology clinic for improving quality and scientific rigor of research proposals
- additionally, active participation and contribution towards teaching and assessment in graduate (MPhil and PhD) and other academic programs of the department and the institution, developing courses in biostatistics, contributing to curriculum design and continual curriculum updating, supervising and coordinating MPhil and PhD projects within area of expertise, and engaging in scholarly activities.
Requirements:
You should have:
- a minimum of Master’s degree in Biostatistics, Epidemiology or related quantitative field from an accredited institution
- a minimum of two years relevant experience
- strong knowledge of statistical principles relevant in medical research
- excellent analytical, mathematical and statistical skills
- proficiency in R software and SPSS software
- good research project organizational skills with ability to work with biomedical sciences researchers.
- demonstrated ability to have contributed towards the building of successful research projects
- proven ability to develop graduate teaching courses in biostatistics.
