Senior Executive IT Governance
IT governance shall provide a structure of relationships and processes that direct and control how IT is provided and operated. Using this type of governance shall help in achieving the overall goals by adding value from IT whilst balancing the risk versus reward of IT investments and processes. It provides the structure that links IT processes, IT resources, and information to enterprise strategies and objectives. IT projects should also be in the scope of governance. IBA may have separate governance arrangements for projects, but where this is the case, there must be a strong link with the approach used to govern IT; otherwise, there a risk that projects may be delivered on time but not align with the necessary requirements for governing IT. This is key when considering what is project governance and why is it important.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Providing governance, risk, and compliance data insights to drive improvement across the IT system.
- Planning the implementation of processes and procedures for the identification and assessment of risk in the organization’s information system
- Managing risks relating to information technology and cyber-security
- Measuring and monitoring IT compliance
- Developing systems and processes for the management and reporting of risks
- Providing insights and recommendations on risk management to the executive team
- Reviewing current and proposed information systems for compliance with the company’s business strategy
- Developing standard operating procedures for IT systems to ensure compliance with corporate governance.
- He shall be responsible for research & development in various functional sub domains of IT, i.e., budget, projects and new technologies to strengthen end user technical support.
- Capability and capacity based financial planning for IT projects, with particular focus on document management, capacity enhancement, archiving and translation capabilities.
- Act as single point of contact for other sections of IT focusing on strict compliance of processes, standards, and timelines.
- Training and familiarization of end users with new technologies deployed and services provided.
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:
- 16 years of education or equivalent with majors in Computer Science (CS) or Information Technology (IT) or Software Engineering (SE).
- Certification in any of these shall be a definitive plus: ITIL, COBIT, PMI
- 3 years of relevant experience in a reputable organization, preferably in a university.
KNOWLEDGE & COMPETENCIES:
- Ability to translate technical or complex concepts into user-friendly language
- Ability to collaborate, working closely with both functional and technical teams
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and trouble-shooting skills
- Ability to remain flexible as priorities change, adaptable to change, and able to accept ambiguity
- Effective communications skills including written, verbal, and presentation
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Established skills in time management, multi-tasking, and prioritisation of work
