The Department of Oncology offers comprehensive cancer care services to all patients. The services are provided through multidisciplinary teams. Infrastructure facilities include a daycare setting dedicated to oncology patients. Outpatient facilities include clinics for Medical Oncology, Haematology, Paediatric Oncology, Radiation Oncology, and Palliative Care. The Department has 16 full-time faculty with a strong commitment to undergraduate and postgraduate education and research. Residency programmmes are offered in Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, and Clinical Haematology Oncology, and a fellowship programme in Paediatric Oncology.

Resident Medical Officer (Medical Oncology) – Department of Oncology
Responsibilities:
Your responsibility will include:
- direct patient care and acquisition of basic knowledge and technical skills essential for the care of patients with solid tumors and hematological malignancies under the supervision of attending consultants
- supervise and assist ward rounds with the in-patient team
- follow up on orders, tests and tasks generated during or after rounds
- coordination with multidisciplinary teams to follow consult recommendations
- identify possible discharges and proceed with definite discharges with the attending on call
- being on-call every 4th night
- assist consultant physicians in clinics as per monthly schedule
- attending/presentations in departmental educational activities including journal clubs and multidisciplinary tumor board meetings
- acquire knowledge of research and active involvement in sectional research projects
- ensuring proper documentation in medical record and record keeping.
Requirements:
You should have:
- MBBS degree with a valid PMDC License
- one year internship with six months in Surgery and allied and six months in Medicine and allied disciplines
- FCPS Part I in Medicine
- 2 years of structured training in Internal Medicine
- IMM exam clearance preferred but not mandatory
- good communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to work in teams as well as independently.
