Faculty Title:
Research Fellow – CBER (Project Based)
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct research independently and with teams on a variety of business and economic topics relevant to Pakistan and the broader region, potentially leading to publication in top tier academic journals.
- Develop and submit research proposals for competitive grants, demonstrating strong research initiative and a focus on impactful contributions to the field.
- Manage database and other research-related resources.
- Provide support to students and researchers in their projects.
- Coordinate in organizing training, seminars, and conferences.
- Develop a newsletter for the center.
- Conduct conversations with academicians, economists and policy makers.
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:
- The incumbent shall have a PhD/or close to completion in Economics or closely related field from an HEC recognized university/institute.
- Minimum 3 years of experience.
KNOWLEDGE & COMPETENCIES:
- Demonstrated experience in conducting independent research and publishing in top-ranked academic journals (have at least two publications in top-ranked or HEC recognized W category journals).
- A proven track record of securing research funding through grants and competitive awards.
- Adequate experience in working with teams on research projects, reports, and papers.
- Strong quantitative and qualitative research skills, including proficiency in statistical analysis software (e.g., Stata, SPSS, R, Envivo).
- Excellent written and communication skills, with the ability to present complex research findings to both academic and non-academic audiences.
- A strong work ethic, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
