Our Client, a Karachi based company, invites applications from individuals for advisory services as a Shariah Advisor on a contractual basis. Applicants should possess the following qualifications, experience, and meet the specified age limit.
Job Title:
Shariah Advisor
Key Responsibilities:
The Shariah Advisor will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:
- Provide expert advice on there-takaful policies and services.
- Ensure that Re-takaful operations, investments, contracts, and agreements of the Company adhere to Shariah principles.
- Ensuring that the re-takaful operations comply with any Rules, Regulation, guideline, ruling or decision issued by the SECP, with regard to Takaful/Re-takaful matters.
- Assist in the formulation and implementation of Shariah-compliant re-takaful policies and procedures.
- Provide technical advice and guidance in accordance with Shariah principles on handling facultative and treaty re-takaful policies.
- Provide training and educational sessions to officers and officials of the company, with regard to Takaful/Re-takaful matters.
- The Shariah Advisor shall be responsible for fulfilling all duties as outlined in the Takaful Rules 2012.
- Any other assignment or task as assigned by or with approval of CEO or Board.
Qualification:
- Holds Shahadat-ul-Aalamiyyah Degree (Darse-Nizami) from any recognized Board of Madaris marks and Bachelor’s degree recognized by Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan with minimum 2* Class with at least four (4) years’ experience of giving Shariah rulings in Fiqh-ul-Muamulat including the period of Takhasus fil Ifta and adequate knowledge of Islamic finance and Takaful/Re-Takaful.
- Post-Graduate Degree in Kuliyyatush Shariah or Kuliyyah Usooluddin will be a plus.
Experience:
- The candidate must have a minimum of seven (7) years of experience as a Shariah Advisor in the Takaful industry. Proficiency in English and knowledge of applicable Pakistani laws are essential. Preference will be given to those with experience of teaching Islamic Finance at reputable educational institutions in Pakistan or those holding an M.Phil or Ph.D. in Islamic Finance.

- Maximum 55 years of age on closing date of the applications.
