We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Monitoring Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead our 24/7 monitoring team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in configuring and managing Application Performance Management (APM) tools such as AppDynamics and IBM Istana, as well as Network Performance Monitoring (NPM) tools such as SolarWinds. A deep understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), on-premises infrastructure, and Temenos applications is essential. The Monitoring SME will be responsible for configuring and optimizing alerts, dashboards, reporting, and alert handling to ensure system health and performance.

Job Summary:
Key Responsibilities:
Monitoring Strategy and Implementation:
- Define and implement comprehensive monitoring strategies for Temenos applications and infrastructure, including APM and NPM solutions.
Metrics Definition and Configuration:
- Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics for monitoring IT infrastructure components, applications, databases, and networks.
- Configure and optimize monitoring metrics to ensure effective performance management and capacity planning.
Alert Management:
- Design and configure alerting mechanisms based on defined thresholds and conditions.
- Monitor alerts and alarms, conduct detailed analysis, and provide timely response and resolution to incidents.
Dashboard Development and Optimization:
- Develop and optimize monitoring dashboards using tools such as Grafana, Kibana, or custom solutions.
- Ensure dashboards provide actionable insights into system health, performance trends, and potential issues.
Incident Response and Root Cause Analysis (RCA):
- Lead incident response efforts, performing RCA for critical incidents to identify underlying causes and preventive measures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to mitigate risks and ensure system availability.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Create and maintain documentation related to monitoring configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Generate regular reports on monitoring insights, performance metrics, and compliance with service level agreements (SLAs).
- Analyze monitoring reports to identify trends and potential issues.
- Provide insights and recommendations to improve system performance and reliability.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and manage a 24/7 monitoring team.
- Ensure that the team fully utilizes monitoring tools to maintain system health
Continuous Improvement:
- Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging technologies in monitoring and performance management.
- Continuously improve monitoring processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Monitoring SME or in a similar role, with expertise in APM, NPM, and infrastructure monitoring.
- Hands-on experience with monitoring tools such as AppDynamics, Dynatrace, Datadog, SolarWinds, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, etc.
- Experience with Temenos applications monitoring is highly desirable.
Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets and metrics.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to guide and collaborate effectively across teams.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in the Banking services industry or similar, with knowledge of Temenos applications and infrastructure.
- Certifications in relevant monitoring tools or ITIL certifications would be advantageous
