Location: Offshore/Remote
Contract: 5 Months Extendable

Marc Ellis is working on behalf of a leading bank in the UAE and is searching for an RCA
Specialist. To be considered for this role you must have the following experience.

Job Purpose:

The job holder is responsible for supporting the design, development and implementation of
the Root Cause Analysis, specifically relating to data quality remediation, as part of the Data
Governance Office. They are accountable for maintaining direction and ensuring alignment with
business objectives with regards to how data is managed across the organization.

The job holder is also a key member of the broader data management group across the
organization and is expected to play an important role in influencing and providing direction to
the wider data management community.

Strategic responsibilities:

• Support the development of the organizational Data Strategy and support data
management in line with strategic business objectives and Client’s cultures and values.

• Supports the DQ Lead in the development and oversight of data governance framework,
standards, practices, policies and processes.

• Supports the development of the Data Governance Office as a center of excellence
committed to ingraining a data-driven decision making culture across the organization,
teaming with external partners, and offering end-to-end data services across business
and support groups.

• Supports in the monitoring and analysis of latest strategic, technological, and regulatory
trends within the organisation and on a global scale.

• Promotes good data quality practices and the management of data as a strategic asset.

Core responsibilities:

• Develop Root Cause Analysis related to Data Quality issues which were obtain from any
type of the initiation (DQ Monitoring / Business Inputes / etc.)

• Perform deep Data queries to find patterns and data discrepences

• Responsible for the business interaction to monitor how data are captured from
business point of view

• Responsible for the full documentation of root cause and proposed solutions

• Responsible for the monitoring of all root cause analysis from end to end point of view

• Supports the development and ongoing maintenance of data definitions, standards,
lineage and other data quality artifacts as part of the data catalogue.

• Supports the development, maintenance and management of organizational reference
data.

• Provides subject matter expertise on systems/process developments to control and
improve data quality.

Specific Accountability:

• Responsible for development and operational aspects of the organizational data quality
framework and advising on strategic decisions in line with business priorities and
international best practice.

• Advise on strategic priorities of the Data Governance Office in order to support all
business lines in meeting their strategic objectives.

• Responsible for the design, prioritization, and management of data improvement
initiatives.

KPIs:

• Delivery against identified DQ issues

• # of RCA delivered against the plan as set by DQ lead

• % Improvement in DQ for key data elements

• Feedback from peers, management and key stakeholders

FRAMEWORKS, BOUNDARIES, & DECISION MAKING AUTHORITY:

• Functions within the framework and boundaries of Group policies as well as overall
organisational and governance frameworks.

• Authorised to take decisions as per the approved authorisation matrix.

Minimum Experience:

• 5 years’ relevant experience in the banking sector with at least 2 years in similar
positions of progressively increasing managerial responsibilities in the Data Governance
and Quality function.

Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes: Knowledge and Skills:

• Excellent knowledge of Data Governance and Data Quality programs, frameworks,
policies, and procedures.

• Experience working on strategic programs and by synthesizing business requirements
and priorities with existing organisational capabilities.

• Track record of successfully delivering business value attributed to improved data
management practices.

• Good knowledge of SQL or other data manipulation techniques

• Technical knowledge of common DQ tools and standards such as Oracle EDQ and
Informatica EDQ

and concerns of numerous stakeholders adapting personal style accordingly.

• Adaptable and knowledgeable who is able to discuss a variety of data management
situations with both IT and business stakeholders.
