Job Description:

Synopsis:

The OPC Planner reports to the Sr. Manager Short-Term Planning. The OPC Planner facilitates CAMO Short-Term Planning’s maintenance strategies, procedures, and methods for the short-term maintenance planning of the aircraft fleet while delivering a quality product at optimized costs to the customer for all tasks below A Check.

Accountabilities:

•    Ensure that all operational and maintenance planning activities within the 24-hour operational window are well-coordinated and optimized to maximize efficiency and minimize disruptions.
•    Address and plan defects related to both operational and guest-related aspects, with an unlimited range.
•    Manage aircraft swaps, AOG situations effectively, and attend meetings to discuss and address operational and maintenance planning matters.
•    Optimize workpackages by balancing demand and capacity for the day of Ops, ensuring that the workload aligns with the team’s capabilities and resources.
•    Collaborate with Short Term Planning Engineers and Operations to review the forecast for maintenance requirements, ensuring suitable maintenance slots are allocated, and optimizing aircraft operation.
•    Execute the approved Aircraft Maintenance Program.
•    Review open workpackages, ensuring all maintenance requirements are completed within the prescribed time period, and complete the workpackage closure process (including reporting back on completed tasks and initiating re-planning activities as necessary).
•    Ensure any extension to inspection intervals is approved, controlled, and monitored.
•    Supervise and guide to support staff.
•    Act as the first point of contact for Operational issues from MCC, Light and Heavy Maintenance OTP, or downtime extensions for Line Maintenance and NOC.
•    Communicate with Light, Line Maintenance, and Etihad NOC to negotiate maintenance slots.
•    Assign tail allocation to flights schedules provided by network planning.
•    Liaise with the Commercial department regarding extra revenue flights and Ad Hoc requirements for non-scheduled maintenance.
•    Monitor the compliance of maintenance slots using approved system data to ensure timely execution of planned maintenance (02-Weeks Slot Plan) for Line and Light Maintenance downtime.
•    Conduct aircraft maintenance project planning, including task estimation and work package preparation during the absence of the CAMO Planning Engineers.
•    Execute tasks related to Engineering Work Instructions and mandatory requirements for continued airworthiness management.
•    Monitor and plan all MEDA/Stretcher requests.
•    Issue and save SMI-CRS as per requirements.
•    Ensure any extension to inspection intervals is approved, controlled, and monitored.
•    Supervise and provide guidance to support staff.

Education & Experience:

•    Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical, Mechanical, or Electrical/Electronic Engineering or relevant field.
•    Minimum of 3 years of relevant job-related experience in aviation maintenance planning.
•    Familiarity with maintenance forecasting tools and software.
•    Knowledge of aviation regulations, especially in maintenance planning.
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
•    Effective communication and collaboration abilities
