Job Title:
Mechanical Engineer-ACH-FM Mechanical
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for supporting the Senior Engineer in ensuring that all activities are carried out in accordance with SEHA safety and management standards, policies and procedures, statutory and contractual requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Planning and designing of all mechanical works
Carrying out research in the use of different types of materials handling, heating and cooling processes, the storage and pumping of liquids and gases and environmental controls
Using computer-aided design (CAD) to assist in design and drawing
Setting up work control systems, e.g. testing of equipment to make sure that standards of performance, quality, cost and safety are met
Carrying out studies about possible changes or improvements and estimating costs of upgrading facility available systems (HVAC – Heating ventilation and air-conditioning system)
Managing and monitoring day to day activities
Identifying project requirements (scope and work breakdown, construction materials and recommended suppliers) and design (systems and products)
Reviewing design specifications, blueprints and other technical drawings; researching suitable solutions, making models and prototypes of products
Estimating costs and timescales
Liaising with SEHA facilities and outsourced firms
Attending meetings with the requesting facility, outsourced firms and keeps all informed of progress
Preparing project status reports, as necessary
Ensuring that all works are carried out in accordance with the contract specification, drawings, instructions and programmers
Ensuring that the progress of work in relation with the work programme and report to the Senior Engineer r
Planning and preparing estimation cost for new projects being executing as per the instruction of Senior Engineer
Communicating and coordinating Communicating and consulting with other healthcare disciplines
Attending interdisciplinary meetings to provide technical support and advice
Participating in joint meetings with members of the Health Authority Engineering Directorate
Participating in the development, communication and evaluation of standards, procedures and protocols
Maintaining document control
Preparing project status reports, as necessary
Managing and maintaining document control systems for construction and maintenance information
Communicating and consulting with other healthcare disciplines
Reporting to the Senior Engineer of mechanical section about all mechanical works
Ensuring quality checks
Conducting various performance and tolerance tests of new assets (building infrastructure and equipment components, products and systems within the infrastructure) based on test criteria as established by SEHA policies and procedures and/or written test plans; drafts manuals, test procedures and reports of new components
Designing and conducting necessary site tests
Recording, analyzing and interpreting test data, proposing modifications and re-testing as necessary
Planning, arranging and recording inspection and test activities for materials and workmanship
Contributing to team effort
Participating in cross-functional teams and committees as appropriate
Developing and enhancing team procedure manual and processes and discussed with seniors
Managing his/her subordinates and ensuring team development and complaint resolution, setting KPI’s for direct reports and conducting performance appraisal and driving motivation levels of direct reports
