Manager (Software Development) – Department of Medicine
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Principal Investigator of vectorcardiographic (VCG) detection of myocardial ischaemia during exercise, you will be responsible to:
- enhance and upgrade existing software for data acquisition and analysis
- implement new features as required for the examination of orthogonal ECG signals during exercise.
- modify analytic algorithms to improve accuracy and reliability
- research and develop methods for recording abnormal heart rhythms during exercise
- integrate data acquisition software with analytic algorithms
- coordinate with the team for the construction of a bicycle ergometer that records and displays units of physical work
- develop a non-invasive method comparable to the manual method of blood pressure measurement.
- develop tools to regulate physical workload during exercise tests
- create interfaces to interpret and present data analysis in a user-friendly manner for physicians
- collaborate with the AKU team and other stakeholders for requirements gathering and feedback
- provide regular updates and documentation on software development progress
- support ongoing research related to the VCG method’s evolution and epidemiological studies
- participate in brainstorming sessions for further method enhancement.
Requirements:
You should have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering or related field, with substantial experience in software development, including biomedical applications and a strong understanding of biostatistical analysis
- proven experience working with the VCG team to develop VCG software that visualizes cardiac data in various graphical formats, including Cardiac Signal Charts, signal magnitude displays, and QRS Comparison charts
- ability to learn and apply biological principles relevant to research studies, with a deep understanding of the underlying concepts
- must possess the skills to enhance the current software’s functionality, including the ability to display charts in a 3D environment and other advanced features.
