Synopsis:
This role requires working closely with the Senior Manager Audit to deliver the department’s goal and objectives for the Group. This role has the responsibility to lead audit engagements, conducting all stages of reviews from planning to reporting and ensuring robust controls and adherence to corporate governance. To contribute to the strategic development of the corporate and outstation audit function and ensure that the department values are upheld at all times.

• Work with the Senior Manager Audit to develop an internal audit strategy that is aligned with and supports the achievement of the Group’s strategic objectives.
• Conduct all aspects of audits competently on a team leader capacity, including timely completion of resource budget, timetable and communication plan, audit programme, fieldwork, thorough work paper file, audit portal update and draft report with minimal review points.
• Utilize data analytics tools like IDEA and Power BI to extract, analyze, and visualize data for audit purposes. Identify anomalies, trends, and potential areas of concern.
• Conduct cybersecurity assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests. Identify and prioritize cybersecurity risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Evaluate the design and effectiveness of application controls within business-critical software applications. Identify control weaknesses and recommend improvements.
• Assess and test IT General Controls (ITGC) across the organization’s IT infrastructure, including access controls, change management, and security protocols
• Leverage your knowledge of airline IT systems to assess their security, compliance, and performance. Identify vulnerabilities and recommend improvements
• Review fieldwork and draft findings to ensure work performed by Audit Managers, Internal Auditors and Graduate Auditors are thorough, complete, accurate, documented and delivered within the agreed timelines.
• Ensure completeness and accuracy of documentation to support all audit findings.
• Drive and embed data analytics within the team, audit process and contribute towards continuous auditing and monitoring.
• Ensure continuous communication with immediate superior. Provide regular update on audit progress, submit progress report and escalate issues or challenges faced proactively, unbiased and timely.
• Coach and manage the performance of Audit Officer(s) to ensure they develop auditing skills and knowledge which provide maximum value for the business process and relevant for career advancement. Provide coaching to help development process where necessary.
• Perform ad-hoc special projects as requested from time to time by the Senior Manager Audit, Head of Audit or Chief Audit & Risk Officer with minimal notice. Prioritise work effectively.
• Ensure own technical skills are always advancing and are being kept in line with international best practice. Ensure familiarity with current issues in accounting/auditing, knowledge of segregation of duties in IT application, ITGC, research, continuing professional development and airlines business processes. Proactively leverage knowledge and skill strengths of colleagues.
• Design and develop Control Self-Assessment framework and ensure effective implementation of the programme.
• In an advisory capacity, work with Business owners to provide independent strategic support to add value and help them achieve their goals. Keep abreast of new industry developments and technological advancements, with a view to proactively introduce these processes within the organisation.
• Build credible relationships with executive and senior management and third party service providers, to facilitate the implementation of best practices in risk and control of business processes.
Education & Experience:
• Post graduate (e.g. MBA or Masters in relevant discipline IT/Aviation/Data Analytics/etc) and/or internationally recognised professional qualifications (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIA, CPA, CIMA).
• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience
