Driver is responsible for operating motor vehicles and ensures that all safety standards / requirements are followed while transporting authorized passengers or materials in the Company vehicles in accordance with federal, local and organizational requirements.
Main Accountabilities / Duties:
- Drive the allocated vehicle and pick up and drop the passengers safely.
- Drive Company’s vehicles in a safe, legal and professional way.
- Drive to the set timetable, not running early or late, when it is safe to do so.
- To keep up one self-up to date with road closures, diversions or special events that may have an impact on the transportation services. This is done by reading notices, attending briefings, listening to the on-bus radio (if you have one fitted).
- Follow the Injury Prevention rules and the First ‘Safety Principles’.
- Ensure that speed limits are observed within vehicle depots.
- Provide high standard of customer service at all times.
- To give customers on the vehicle any information that may help them during their journey.
- Ensure all safety accidents/incidents are reported using the company’s reporting procedure.
- Be aware of the of emergency and evacuation plans.
- Ensure that a valid driving license is held at all times and is available for inspection.
- Report any need for maintenance / repair of Company vehicles.
- Report any late running of Company vehicles due to breakdown, traffic / weather conditions or any emergency situations.
- Report for work at the correct time and location with the correct equipment.
- Attends training as required, submits appropriate documentation to designated authority as an evidence of successful completion of the training.
- To work on a rotational basis, that includes night shifts also, and may have to work on weekends and holidays.
- Ensure that the company uniform is clean and is correctly worn during the duty hours.
- To perform other job related duties as assigned by Manager / Supervisor.
- To undertake any reasonable request made by the Company.
Minimum Requirement (Education / Knowledge, Skills and Experience)
- Education: Secondary or High school education with valid UAE driving license.
- Knowledge of the applicable traffic laws.
