Job Title:
IT Director – Infrastructure & Operations
The Director of IT will oversee the IT Infrastructure and Operations within the department, ensuring the seamless 24/7 operation of all major applications and core infrastructure. This role emphasizes excellence in customer service and communication, while managing and monitoring the network infrastructure, data center operations, and IT service delivery. The Director of IT will collaborate with business stakeholders from various functions, manage key vendor and partner relationships, and align IT initiatives with business goals. Additionally, the role involves consistently providing IT support services to meet the needs of both internal customers and guests.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure excellent customer service and communication in the IT department, providing 24/7 support.
- Establish and maintain standards, processes, and procedures following ITIL best practices.
- Manage and maintain SLAs, acting as a point of escalation for support and complaints.
- Oversee software and hardware installations, driving operational efficiencies.
- Manage vendor and partner relations, ensuring compliance with SLAs.
- Define and achieve performance objectives and goals for IT teams.
- Lead the team, manage performance, and support career development.
- Maintain IT Security Policies and Procedures in line with global standards.
- Liaise with business stakeholders to ensure strategic alignment.
- Assist in creating and maintaining IT budgets, ensuring fiscal discipline.
- Drive innovation and identify new IT business opportunities.
- Formulate RFPs for IT systems expansion and maintenance.
- Provide vendor and partner selection advice, ensuring sound decisions.
- Reduce operational costs through automation and optimized infrastructure usage.
- Ensure policies, standards, and documentation are in place for business solutions.
- Adhere to IT standards, policies, and compliance best practices.
- Manage the IT service catalog and measure service performance consistently.
- Act as the IT expert on line-of-business applications, providing guidance.
- Maintain and develop documentation of software and hardware assets.
- Delegate tasks, coach, and mentor IT team members and contractors.
- Actively develop the team, identifying skills gaps and implementing succession planning.
- Monitor vendor performance and conduct management reviews.
- Conduct root cause and trend analysis for incidents and service requests.
- Communicate IT updates to stakeholders effectively.
- Build and foster relationships to drive IT initiatives.
- Manage IT support contracts and report KPIs to the VP of IT.
- Research and select top-tier IT hospitality hardware and software.
- Meet with business leaders to understand IT requirements and plan upgrades.
Skills, Experience & Educational Requirements:
- Experienced with CISCO, Dell, AWS and HPE Aruba
- Proficient in application support for hospitality solutions and integrations (Opera PMS, Simphony, HotSOS, HSIA, etc.).
- Proficient in Microsoft products and platforms (Office 365, Windows Server, Active Directory, SCCM, SolarWinds).
- Hold certifications such as MCSE, Microsoft Certification, ITIL, or CobIT.
- Strong understanding of IT processes, IT service delivery, and the ITIL framework.
- Configure and manage firewalls (Cisco, Palo Alto, Checkpoint).
- Define and implement Data Center VLAN and firewall-based network segregation for PCI compliance.
- Maintain Hotel VPN connectivity and validate application access through firewall rules.
- Experience with SonicWall Secure Mobile Access for remote users.
- Practical experience with VMWare in large enterprise environments.
- Strong understanding of Data Center technologies and hyperconverged infrastructure.
- Operate VEEM Backup Solutions and manage large-scale storage deployments.
- Manage backup solutions and disaster recovery across multiple sites.
- Oversee management of Core/Distribution Enterprise switches and VLAN/IP subnet definitions (Cisco, HP switches).
- Oversee configuration of routed interfaces and OSPF troubleshooting (Cisco routers).
- Ensure smooth operation of wireless components and monitor using Cisco Prime.
- Oversee networking requirements for Avaya IP-based telephony (VLAN segregation, QoS, SIP/H.323).
- Manage IPTV performance and understand multicasting over IP networks.
- Provide support and oversight for CCTV systems.
- Manage background music systems and digital signage screens.
- Support technology infrastructure in colleague accommodation areas, focusing on Wi-Fi services.
