GSE Fabricator – Junior Maintenance Technician
Job Purpose:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Fabricator to join our team. The GSE Fabricator Technician will be responsible for fabricating, modifying, and repairing various types of ground support equipment used in aviation and aerospace industries. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fabrication, welding, and mechanical assembly, along with a passion for precision and quality workmanship.
In this role, you will:
– Fabricate, modify, and repair ground support equipment according to engineering drawings, specifications, and instructions.
– Utilize a variety of tools, machinery, and equipment, such as welders, grinders, saws, and drills, to complete fabrication tasks.
– Perform welding, cutting, and brazing operations to join metal components and structures.
– Conduct mechanical assembly and installation of fabricated parts, ensuring proper fit and functionality.
– Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy, making necessary adjustments and repairs as needed.
– Collaborate with engineering and design teams to provide input on product improvements and modifications.
– Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and best practices.
– Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform repairs to ensure optimal performance.
– Document all fabrication and repair work, including materials used and hours worked, for record-keeping purposes.
– Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in GSE fabrication techniques and technologies.
Qualifications & Experience:
To be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements:
– High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in fabrication or a related field is preferred.
– Proven experience as a fabricator technician, preferably in the aviation or aerospace industry.
– Strong knowledge of fabrication techniques, including welding, cutting, and brazing.
– Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
– Ability to operate a wide range of fabrication tools and equipment.
– Familiarity with safety protocols and regulations related to fabrication work.
– Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects and work in a physically demanding environment.
