The Department of Oncology offers comprehensive cancer care services to all patients. The services are provided through multidisciplinary teams. Infrastructure facilities include a daycare setting dedicated to oncology patients. Outpatient facilities include clinics for Medical Oncology, Haematology, Paediatric Oncology, Radiation Oncology, and Palliative Care. The Department has 16 full-time faculty with a strong commitment to undergraduate and postgraduate education and research. Residency programmmes are offered in Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, and Clinical Haematology Oncology, and a fellowship programme in Paediatric Oncology.

Fellow Medical Officer (Palliative Medicine), Department of Oncology
Responsibilities:
Under supervision, you will be responsible for:
- in-hospital clinical duties starting with emergency room evaluation, triage (admission to palliative care unit)
- in-house follow up evaluation and stabilisation of intractable symptoms, and then determination of future prognosis
- getting familiarity with laboratory testing and imaging studies to ensure relief of suffering
- evaluating and treating outpatient duties such as following up with patients after discharge from the hospital in the palliative care clinic
- involving in teaching residents, rotating medical students, and elective students
- completing a research proposal and writing a manuscript for at least a national-level journal
- assisting and coordinating ongoing conferences and workshops within the division
- coordinating and participating in ongoing projects and interacting with colleagues, students, etc
- giving requested lectures to other sections when required.
Requirements:
Applicants should have:
- an MBBS degree and a valid PMDC license
- completed structured postgraduate training in Internal Medicine and Allied or Family Medicine from a reputable institution
- pursuing FCPS part II in Internal Medicine and Allied or Family Medicine
- excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- excellent teaching and training skills
- excellent clinical skills
- ability to provide patient care in a diverse setting and satisfy and retain patients in clinical practice
- ability to work effectively in teams.
