Introduction:
Aga Khan University chartered in 1983 as Pakistan’s first private international university, is committed to the provision of education, research, and health care of international standards relevant to Pakistan and the region.
The Department of Paediatrics and Child Health is committed to providing state-of-the-art clinical services to children. It imparts high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate training and carries out community-oriented research of public health importance. The Department consists of a group of dedicated full-time and part-time Faculties. Besides the outpatient clinics, the inpatient set-up consists of a Paediatric Ward with two units comprising 84 beds, a dedicated 5-bed area for Paediatric Neurology, and a Neonatal Section comprising a state-of-the-art neonatal unit of 24 beds with provision of level 4 care. In addition a 10 bed level 2 care along with 2 postnatal nurses for level 1 care.

Fellow Medical Officer (Neonatology), Paediatrics & Child Health
Responsibilities:
The incumbents will be responsible to:
- provide clinical service in in-patient and out-patient services with the senior faculty members
- perform daily team rounds, and formulate management plans daily in consultation with senior faculty members
- practice a system that is quality based and has an academic and service model imbibed in it.
- participate in teaching undergraduates and postgraduates according to the defined standards and curriculum
- conduct clinical/basic research related to Paediatrics
- participate in departmental and organizational performance improvement activities
- perform procedural skills based on competency levels
- provide consultations under the supervision of seniors in different clinical areas of Neonatology including Labour & Delivery suits, well baby, and Emergency department.
Requirements:
Applicants should have:
- an MBBS degree and a valid PMDC license
- completed structured postgraduate training in Paediatrics from a reputable institution
- cleared FCPS part II in Pediatrics
- excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- excellent teaching and training skills
- excellent clinical skills
- ability to provide patient care in a diverse setting and satisfy and retain patients in clinical practice
- ability to work effectively in teams.
