Overview:
Saudi Aramco is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our Unconventional Resources Producing Department .
The Department is responsible for operating all the surface facilities, which include the field wells and processing facilities.
Your primary role as an Electrical Engineer in an unconventional asset will be to provide professional advice and guidance regarding electrical systems, schemes, equipment or techniques, facility designs and solutions to operating and maintenance problems. You will have a thorough understanding of plant operations, specialized experience in electrical high voltage and low voltage systems for large scale complex electrical distribution system. In addition, you will have experience in power reliability analysis for electrical distribution systems which involves carrying out power system studies using software like ETAP etc.
Key Responsibilities:
As the successful candidate you will be required to perform the following:
1. Provide day-to-day technical support to Operations and Maintenance Units to troubleshoot and fix electrical systems including reporting and documentation.
2. Provide expert advice and assistance to design, construction, maintenance engineers and operation personnel on all matters related to electrical systems.
3. Develop engineering conceptual plans for the new installation and upgrade projects including development of work scopes, calculations and detailed technical specifications.
4. Review Project Proposals and Detailed Designs packages for new facilities.
5. Develop and maintain the UR engineering standards and design best practices.
6. Participate on the testing & commissioning of the new facilities and Turnaround and Inspection (T&I).
7. Update and maintain engineering documentation and drawings.
8. Analyze system performance and find solution for Energy saving.
9. Ensure quality, cost effective and timely solutions to any upgrade.
10. Test and pilot new technologies.
11. Ensure full HSE Compliance.
12. Report and analyze key performance indices.
13. Make recommendations for technical/economic optimization of existing facilities.
14. Lead feasibility/profitability studies for new facilities.
15. Contribute to Business Unit strategy.
16. Assists in the training, development and mentoring of younger staff.
17. Provide analysis, evaluation and interpretation in support of projects, processes, and financing related to Saudi Aramco capital investment decisions.
18. Maintain and expand on contacts within the industry.
19. Regularly interact with other professionals in various company organizations involved in capital planning and economic analysis.
Minimum Requirements:
You must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university. A higher degree is preferred.
A Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration is desirable but is not essential.
You should have a minimum of 15 years working experience in Electrical engineering, with at least 10 years experience in the field of Oil and Gas Industry.
You must be conversant and have working knowledge of industry codes and standards, such as NFPA, ANSI IEEE, IEC, API, NEC, NACE and others.
Experience with specifications and data sheets for Electrical equipment like EHV GIS/AIS Switchgear, Power Transformers, large synchronous/induction motors, HV/LV Switchgears and Control gears, EHV/HV/LV Cables, Bus ducts, EHV GIBs, UPS, Battery Charger, NGR, Panel boards is a requirement.
You should also have experience in preparation of Single line diagrams, protection and metering schemes, motor schematics, Hazardous area classification drawings, substation automation architecture, synchronizing and bus changeover schemes.
Experience in electrical engineering calculations like Grounding/Earthing, Battery charger/Battery sizing, Transformer sizing, Cable sizing, Electrical Load schedules, Lighting. Also knowledge of Electrical Power system studies including Short Circuit, Load Flow analysis, Motor starting, Arc Flash Hazard studies, Relay coordination and setting using software like ETAP is essential.
