National University of Sciences & Technology (NUST) invites applications from self-motivated, dynamic, innovative Male/Female professionals having excellent interpersonal communication skills for the posts of Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, Lecturer and Lab Engineer in the following disciplines:
Faculty Title:
Chief Librarian – Islamabad Campus
Qualification / Experience:
– Master of Library & Information Sciences (MLIS) from HEC recognized university.
– Minimum twelve (12) years of experience as Librarian in any reputable organization.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities / Competencies:
– keeping up to date with newly released publications in order to select library resources.
– Library Administration/ Organization.
– Knowledge of Staff work.
– Knowledge of library automation
– Demonstrate ability to recruit and retain high quality library staff.
– Physically fit to perform the duties pertaining to the position.
Key Responsibilities:
– To work as Focal Person for HEC digital library.
– Liaison with Institution’s libraries regarding HEC digital library, funds issues, budget estimates, approval of books purchase cases, Libraries Statistics, searching of data bases & automation.
– Facilitate the development and updating of library databases and searching of e-data base.
– Liaison with P&D Dte regarding funds allocation head PC1.
– Process the institution’s libraries purchasing cases, recurring allocated.
– Continuing education of librarians / library staff.
– Dealing with enquiries and assisting library users in accessing ICT and other resources.
– Arrange appropriate resource material for research, and advice and assist in locating the right information.
– Deal official correspondence.
Terms & Conditions:
– Candidates are required to attach scanned copies of their documents (Academics / Professional).
– Last Education Certificate/Degree should be verified/attested by HEC.
Candidates may be considered ineligible for the post due to any of the following reasons:
– 3rd Div in academic career / weak academic profile.
– NUST employees with less than two years’ service with NUST and / or absence of NOC from Head of Institution.
– In process of pursuing a required degree.
– Medically unfit.
– Only selected candidates will be contacted and issued offer letter.
– Candidates serving in Govt departments, Armed forces may apply through their respective parent department / organizations. Late / incomplete applications will be ignored. Only short-listed candidates will be considered / called for test / interview and no TA / DA will be admissible.
