Introduction:
The Aga Khan University Hospital in addition to its five Hospitals creates access through its Outreach Services which include Clinical Laboratories, Outpatient Medical Centres, Pharmacy services, Home Health and other services. Outreach Services are designed to provide primary to secondary healthcare services to patients near their homes and are present in several cities across Pakistan. Outpatient Medical Centres offer a range of specialty clinics including Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Endocrinology, Dermatology, Gastroenterology, Cardiopulmonary, Orthopedics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics and Physiotherapy, and cater to children, adults, and elderly patients for general health checks or specific disease consultations.

Responsibilities:
You will be responsible to operate POS (Point of Sale) to record daily cash transactions for the food items sold in cafeteria, ensure accurate and safe handling and bank depositing of all cash transactions on daily basis by following the departmental cash control systems and handle customers i.e. faculty, staff, students and attendants in a courteous manner.
Specifically, you will be responsible to:
- ensure the collection and safe handling of cash in the cafeteria and NFSD outlets as per the policies and procedures
- ensure correct charging of price to customers by following the (Price Look Units) system and open key system as required
- safely deposit sales amount with the central cashier at the end of each shift as per the routine procedures
- perform cafeteria / NFSD outlets sale history analysis through cash machine itemized (Price Looks Units) transaction audit roll and provide report the findings
- provide cashiering training to other staff and maintain sufficient cash (float & coins) throughout the shift
- stay aware of the food and beverage items which are sold at the counter.
- seek the correct portion size information from duty supervisor for the food items which are on sale and ensure continuous coordination with service supervisor regarding the portions
- maintain effective cleaning of the cash machine during the shift and ensure safety and security of cafeteria and NFSD outlets belongings
- maintain order log book and clean NFSD outlets by sweeping, mopping and dusting to maintain clean and hygienic environment.
- maintain prompt and highest standards of counter services to all customers and follow courteous and professional behavior.
Requirements:
You should have:
- at least Intermediate, preferably a Bachelor’s degree along with a minimum of two years experience of cashiering system in institutional food services, hospital or university cafeteria, five star Hotel or restaurant
- ability to operate cash machine and basic computerized terminals
- good interpersonal skills, particularly communication skills
- ability to effectively work in teams as well as independently
- willingness to work in shift duties.
