Roles & Responsibilities:
Sales Manager responsibilities includes developing key growth sales strategies, tactics and action plans. Successful execution of these strategies is required to achieve your financial targets, hitting annual targets, building relationships and understanding customer trends. Extensive expertise in client needs analysis with a consultative approach to software and application sales.
Primary Responsibilities
· Sells products by implementing national sales plans.
· Supervises regional sales managers.
· Determines annual unit and gross-profit plans by implementing marketing strategies, analyzing trends and results.
· Establishes sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas for regions and territories and projecting expected sales volumes and profit for existing and new products.
· Implements national sales programs by developing field sales action plans.
· Maintains sales volume by tracking changing trends, economic indicators, competitors and supply and demand.
· Completes national sales operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees and following up on work results.
· Maintains national staff job results by counselling and disciplining employees.
· Plans, monitors, and appraises job results.
· Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
· Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results. Works with customer, Customer Business Manager, Customer Trade Marketing Manager, Category Sales Manager to create customer specific objectives that align with corporate objectives for volume.
· This position is responsible for achieving the distribution, shelving, merchandising and pricing.
· Works with the Business Manager, Marketing Manager and develop and implement assortment and merchandising strategies/action plans for the various brands in the portfolio.
· Works with the Business Manager and Trade Marketing Manager to analyze results and provide accurate volume and spending forecasts on a quarterly basis
· Executes distribution, shelving, merchandising pricing (DSMP) objectives as agreed to during the annual planning process.
· Penetrates mid-level management to build relationships and maximize customer development.
· Interprets and makes adjustments to the merchandising strategy based on feedback/information from the assigned category analytics team category analyst regarding category sales, brand sales, share growth, and promotional efficiency.
· Continues to participate in learning and development workshops and activities in local, regional, and meetings intended to improve selling techniques, knowledge of customer and company, and other business practices designed to enhance effectiveness in the marketplace.
Desired Candidate Profile:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Business with Course Studies in Sales, Marketing, or food related topics or equivalent experience.
· Proficient in Excel, Power Point, Word. Siebel Trade Management experience is preferred.
· Ability to communicate, present and influence all levels of the organization, including executive and C-level
· Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close
· Proven ability to articulate the distinct aspects of products and services
· Proven ability to position products against competitors
· Demonstrable experience as head of sales, developing client-focused, differentiated and achievable solutions
· Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills
· A pattern of initiative and success.
· Proven problem solving and decision-making skills.
· The ability to work in a team environment on a variety of complex projects.
· Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
· Demonstrated customer relationship development experience, preferably with chain customer.
