It offers procedures like cochlear implants, reconstructive surgery post-trauma or cancer head and neck surgery. Based on these specialized procedures, patients are accommodated in the outpatient as well as the inpatient areas. Audiologist (Non-full time), Outpatient Services
Responsibilities:
You will be responsible to:
- assist in handling patients with speech and language dysfunction
- assist in evaluation and formulation of speech therapy treatment plans
- monitor patient recovery through speech therapy provided
- assess the patients with hearing loss and perform audiogram, tympanogram or otoacoustic emission test
- consult and collaborate with consultants and other medical professionals in providing high quality speech therapy treatments
- educate patients and their families about treatment interventions and home exercises
- maintain and update patients’ records and documentation
- raise wider health care staff awareness of patients’ issues based on services guidelines.
Requirements:
You should have:
- a Bachelor’s degree in Audiology & Speech Language Therapy or equivalent from any recognized university
- certificate course in Speech and Audiology from recognized institute/ university
- at least one year of relevant experience
- proficiency in performing audiometry, tympanometry and otoacoustic emissions
- good interpersonal skills, particularly communication and patient report writing skills
- ability to manage time and prioritize tasks effectively
- resilience and ability to cope with work pressure
- ability to effectively work in teams as well as independently.
