It is a resource for FHS, Aga Khan University (AKU) and other national and international institutions. Assistant Professor, Department for Educational Development, Faculty of Health Sciences
Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for:
- supervising Master and PhD students in Health Professions Education
- developing and conducting academic activities, programmes and consultations for departmental revenue generation
- coordinating and directing academic activities and programmes (workshops, courses, symposia, conferences)
- effectively participating and contributing to DED activities
- participating and contributing in question review sessions as a DED representative
- writing research grants as principal investigator and as co-investigator with junior DED faculty to secure funding for research initiatives
- publishing research as first author and co-author with DED faculty
- reviewing manuscripts, writing editorials and commentaries on medical education for national journals
- mentoring junior DED faculty, MHPE graduate students and medical students
- developing collaborations and linkages institutionally nationally and internationally
- developing and organizing electives towards fulfilling MHPE requirements.
Requirements:
You must have:
- a PhD in medical education / education (preferred)·
- at least five years’ experience in the field of medical education with a Master’s degree in HPE or equivalent content expertise in Health Professions Education
- should have at least 3 years of experience as Senior Instructor or equivalent, and should have demonstrated scholarship through research, publications and/or contribution to education.
- leadership and research skills
- excellent communication skills in both verbal and written English.
