Our client, Islamabad based Energy Company in Pakistan seeks to induct qualified and experienced professionals for the position of Assistant Manager Legal and Compliance.

Key Accountabilities:
Strategic Contribution:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for Legal Affairs that aligns with PLL’s objectives and ensures compliance with relevant regulatory frameworks and standards.
- Provide regular reports to Head of Legal on the status and progress of all legal matters, including facilitating effective communication and collaboration with regulators and other external stakeholders.
- Identify and analyze the potential legal and commercial risks that may arise from PLL’s operations and activities, and propose optimal risk mitigation strategies that balance legal obligations and business interests.
Change and Risk Management:
- Provide legal support and guidance for various business activities, such as expanding into new markets, forming strategic partnerships, or acquiring other companies.
- Monitor and update the organization and its affiliates on any changes in the legal environment, regulations, or policies that may affect their operations or compliance.
Budget:
- Assist in drafting departmental budgets by coordinating Contract.
Legal Operations:
- Timely handle matters related to arbitrations and civil suits.
- Handle and advise on litigation and related in-house operations of PLL
- Advice on issues related to licensing
- Provide opinions and advice to internal stakeholders on issues having legal implications.
- Support the legislative monitoring across the board
- Structure, draft, negotiate and close commercial transactions
- Ensure that long lasting relationships are forced with relevant stakeholder
Qualifications:
Minimum: 16 years of Education with a Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Law
Experience:
Minimum: 7 years of post-qualification relevant experience in international, government, semi-government or large commercial organizations of repute.
Technical Competencies:
- Effective and persuasive communication skills
- Technologically adept and possess excellent computer skills.
- Ability to identify and remedy complex legal issues without inviting external services
- Leadership and people management skills
- Keen attention to detail, with an ability to spot errors
