Assets Life Cycle Manager
Job Purpose:
An ALCM Manager leads, or is part of, one of the five areas of ALCM (Operations, Compliance, Business Support, Lease Management and Outsourced Maintenance). The role of the ALCM Manager is to ensure full compliance and continuous airworthiness management of the relevant areas of the department. To ensure accurate, timely and effective recording/retention of Operational, Maintenance and Airworthiness Records for Emirates and Contracted Operators in-line with Airworthiness Regulations. To review, propose and implement changes within systems, procedures and processes to accommodate changes in fleet product, technology and regulatory requirements. To support the business with the Management of Assets and to actively manage, on-site Outsourced Maintenance activities at contracted locations worldwide.
Job Outline:
GENERIC
- Manage and lead departmental resources to ensure efficient operation and utilisation of manpower and equipment. To provide leadership, guidance, training, development, and motivational support to the Team in order to meet fleet growth requirements, system improvements, improved efficiencies and performance standards. To conduct annual reviews and provide staff with objective feedback to ensure development improvements in-line with business needs.
- To manage and monitor the preparation and update of ALCM Engineering Procedures Manual and Working Instructions to support all departmental activity. Provide continuous review for improvements in efficiency and reduced duplication.
- Develop and carry out internal audit programmes and implement corrective and preventive actions to ensure internal standards are met. To review changes and process improvements to eliminate system and any errors by the use of new technologies and optimisation of procedures.
- Provide detailed Key Performance Indicator reporting and implement continuous improvement initiatives that ensure effective Lean principles are adhered to.
SPECIFIC
Operations: - Manage the data recording functions and systems so that the most efficient practices and processes are implemented to ensure aircraft operational and maintenance data is recorded in a timely manner, and as per Company and Regulatory requirements.
- Manage the Technical/Cabin Log data entry process, component transactions, Maintenance Workpackage review and administration, documentation recording through EK on-line repository.
- Manage the preparation of reports and compile information to support internal/external Customer requirements.
- Lead and implement strategic improvements in existing Systems being used.
- Provide ongoing support to internal stakeholders to ensure continued airworthiness requirements are adhered to.
Compliance: - Manage the Airworthiness Review Certificate renewal process by producing required documentation and making them available to the business for review.
- Manage exceptions that fall out from front-end component transactions and Workpackage processing.
- To manage the various fleet landing gear overhaul programs in consultation with internal/external stakeholders and manage the change-out plan from an ALCM perspective.
- To provide Management internally and through interaction with key stakeholders with Engineering Safety Report investigations, various internal audit processes for Airworthiness Directives (AD), Life Limited Parts and empty slot reports.
- Ensuring that incoming Component, Structural, AD/Service Bulletins/Modification documentation is reviewed for completeness against End-Of-Lease (EOL) contractual requirements.
Business Support: - Liaising with other ALCM areas, effectively monitor and put in place appropriate processes for the control and management of new Technologies introduced into the Department.
- Develop and manage the training plans required across the Department as a result of new Technologies being introduced.
- Manage the review and implementation of Robotic Process Automation across all areas of the Department.
- Be the focal of managing and promoting detailed training plans for all new members of staff joining the Department.
- Manage the Archive Administration of all documentation arriving at the Department, ensuring it is controlled in a manner that guarantees security, safety from damage and enables rapid extraction for reporting or review purposes.
- Actively work with external Vendors for the ongoing development of existing software solutions.
Lease Management: - Plan and manage the timeline deliverables and technical aspects for EOL Projects. To ensure all technical audits are accomplished, issues and queries are captured, completed and agreed with a solution that supports the EOL plan.
- Ensure that all technical issues identified in the pre-planning process for EOL Projects are resolved with the internal/external stakeholders and there are no technical issues at the end of the Maintenance Input that would compromise Technical Acceptance of the aircraft.
- Manage the EOL re-delivery process ensuring that Lessor Contract return conditions are met for each Asset being returned. This will include the management of interfaces and deliverables of Engineering Support and Production Departments, while providing technical solutions with action plans to ensure successful EOL projects. Review and estimate all additional work requests from the Lessor and approve the modification and component changes to be included in the EOL workpackage.
- To support Lessor Mid-Term inspections, as per Lease requirements, from a physical aircraft and documentation perspective. To provide data-sets that meet all Contractual Lease requirements.
Outsourcing:
- Be the Team Lead and primary focal for onsite representation with the Maintenance, Repair and Operations organisation (MRO), during this function the reporting line will be to Manager Engineering Programs. Ensuring the Project is being delivered as per scope, timelines and as per Contract. Ensure MRO activities are being conducted in-line with the Joint Procedures Manual (JPM).
- Understand and be familiar with all aspects of the Maintenance Service Agreements, specific for each MRO. Provide guidance to MRO on all aspects of the EK provided paperwork.
- Validate man-hours presented by the MRO for routine / non-routine work. Post maintenance input at the MRO, validate outstanding invoices received.
- Be the on-site focal for all technical issues the MRO has. Liaise with relevant EK Stakeholders for resolution.
- Ensure all spares/logistic requirements are in-place for successful completion of the Project along with aircraft movement to/from the MRO.
- This role involves extensive time away from Dubai supporting Outsourced MROs in a number of geographical locations.
Qualifications & Experience:

- Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) :
- Degree in Engineering, preferably aviation based Experience in Engineering, Technical Records, Continued Airworthiness
- Engineering 8+ Years
- Experience with either Aircraft Records administration, Engineering, Maintenance Planning or other associated Technical Support Organisation or Experience in project management of aircraft EOL processes, including Lessor interactions or the support of Outsourced Maintenance activities.
Knowledge/skills:
- Fully conversant with aircraft/power plant systems and components, aircraft maintenance, aircraft Regulatory requirements and maintenance documentation.
- Must have excellent project management skills, along with sound knowledge of computer applications.
- Effective understanding of Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Risk Analysis knowledge and demonstrated application.
