About the role:
Responsible for a critical operational safety-related function of Airfield Operations, including but not limited to ensuring that all information/data/charts pertaining to the safety of flight and affected by the aerodrome environment, its facilities, systems, procedures or conditions is produced and submitted to QCAA-AIS accurately, error-free and in time for aircraft operators and any other affected operational stakeholders to be of safe use for their own operations. Furthermore, responsible for producing and/or verifying the production of accurate and compliant aeronautical data as per the regulatory requirements of QCAA.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage the accredited contractor who will be hired for aeronautical survey for both airports which comply with regulatory requirements, and accuracy levels and limitations. Responsible for collection, documentation and evaluation of Contractors (Aerodrome Designer / Engineer), Aerodrome Safety Compliance, Airfield Facility Management aeronautical information/data sets in order to facilitate the publication.
- Responsible for creating, updating and maintaining the Parking Plan Manuals for both Hamad and Doha International airports.
- Responsible for cartography, managing and production of aeronautical maps.
- Satisfies the uniformity, accuracy and consistency in the provision of aeronautical information that is required for publication.
- Ensures that the promulgation of Notice to Airmen (NOTAMs), amendments on AIP (Aerodrome Data Catalogue, Obstacle Data, Geographic Data), AIP Supplements, Aeronautical Information Circulars are efficiently handled for the safety of air traffic.
- Establishes close liaison with Aeronautical Information Management/Services for managing aeronautical data for publication.
- Develops and maintains a properly organized quality system containing procedures, processes and resources necessary to implement data quality management.
- Establish data entry workflow processes to ensure quality and integrity standards are in accordance with business rules for provision of source aeronautical information.
- Provide technical expertise and problem resolution to senior management in areas relating to Aeronautical Information, i.e. AIPs, NOTAMs.
- Analyses Aeronautical Information Service/MAP’s (AlS/MAP) problems and provides solutions.
- Performs accuracy and quality review of Notice to Airmen (NOTAMs), amendments on AIP (Aerodrome Data Catalogue, Obstacle Data, Geographic Data), AIP Supplements, Aeronautical Information Circulars.
- Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department.
Qualifications:
About you:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with minimum 6 years of job-related experience.
- Functionally or relevant experience as Aeronautical Information Management Supervisor or Officer
- Functionally or relevant experience as GIS Software Engineer, GIS Developer, Survey CAD Technician with specialty in transportation and navigation.
- Fully conversant in detailed aerodrome design elements (incl. all runways, taxiways, aprons, and all issues around obstacles and obstacle prevention)
- Competent in change management procedures
- Able to operate AutoCAD, ArcGIS Aeronautical Information Exchange Model (AIXM 5.1), CAD based software for airside design and strategic operations planning.
